Over the years, Petionville becomes the most important business center of the republic. Unfortunately, notwithstanding all the large commercial enterprises that settle in this area, these do not spare Petionville from having any cruel problems. Obviously, the chaomage, and the political instability allow allow the Inhabitants of Petionville, to have very difficult days, with which the insecurity which ravages the country. Unfortunately, there are usually street children, who are executed on peaks in the middle of the day. That is why, precisely, Haiti Motion for Peace, Inc., HAMOPA, was in the obligation to support some children who are still in need, to return to classes 2018-2019.
Through our program Education is the first of Peace, the organization chose Petionville, as well as through several departments, We support several thousand children. Haiti Peace Movement, Inc. “HAMOPA”, distributed school materials for fifty children, the organization has donated 50 backpacks, 150 feathers, 150 pencils, games for children who are in primary, and some other school accessories.
But because of our financial weakness, we are asking ourselves every single day “How will Haiti Peace Movement continue to help these poor people who are in a difficult situation, and who represent a great danger for the peaceful citizens? That’s right right, we definitely want your help. Our main mission is to see a total peace reigned throughout the territory of Haiti.
Pétionville History: It is a commune and a suburb of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, in the hills east and separate of the city itself on the northern hills of the Massif de la Selle. Founded in 1831 by then president Jean-Pierre Boyer, it was named after Alexandre Sabès Pétion (1770–1818), the Haitian general and president later recognized as one of the country’s four founding fathers.
